See What You Have Been Missing: One organization’s experience on the implementation of SIEM
In medium to large organizations with complex IT architectures, it is often difficult to gain full visibility into the organizational IT environment. Security Information Event Management (SIEM) systems are known as tools that can help organizations to gain the much needed visibility. In this session, Dan Han from Virginia Commonwealth University will share his experience on the implementation of a Security Information Event Management (SIEM) system in his organization. The session will provide an overview on the business driver, evaluation, architecture, and implementation of a SIEM system, as well as the costs and lessons learned from this implementation.

Dan Han has over 12 years of experience working in the IT industry. During this time, he has worked in areas including application development, desktop support, infrastructure and server management, network management, and information security. Dan currently serves as the Information Security Officer for Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. He holds a MBA and MS in IT management, and 14 industry recognized certifications.
